Some of you might remember the khaki uniform of years gone by, along with the shorts, socks and hat. The scouts uniform now consists primarily of the navy blue shirt with shoulder stripes of colour to represent the youth section that they belong to. Leaders shirts are a plain navy blue.
Badges
Badges are provided as part of your term fees, and as your child earns them. Badges should be placed according to the badge placement charts at the link below. When your child is ready, and definitely from scouts, they should be encouraged to sew on their badges by themselves
Bottoms
The uniform bottoms (Skirt, Short, Trouser) can be varied. For formal occasions (ANZAC Day, Awards Ceremonies, International events etc) all members are to wear bottoms in the Bone/Tan/Beige colour range. There are Scouts Australia options available, or you can use what you already have.
Accoutrements
Scouts Australia also offers hats, belts, jumpers and a range of other branded wear for scouts. Depending on what section your child is in, and what activities as to what may be required. Attendance at international events for example will normally require at least a Scouts belt
Every youth member of Scouting will need a wide brimmed hat for activities, and is likely to need a range of footwear and other clothing applicable to scout activities. The Group does have some loan equipment such as packs and tents once children get to the scouting section.
