1st Jerrabomberra Scout Troop

Plan!

Scouts (as a section) is where 'Youth Led - Leader Supervised' really kicks in.  Scouts work in patrols of 5-7 boys and girls under the leadership of Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders to plan, run and learn from activities that interest them.  They work towards the badges in the award system under the guidance and supervision of leaders
A typical term program includes some hiking, camping, nights around the hall learning skills, getting out and interacting with other scout groups, some games, a bit of cooking, and everyone's favourite - sitting round a campfire at night

The actual program is as varied as the scouts want it to be.  Leaders are there to make sure activities are safe, and to provide counsel and guidance to ensure that learning outcomes are achieved each term.

Do!

Getting outside, participating in the adventure, learning new skills and sharing the learning is all about the 'Do!'.  Putting the great plans into action and solving problems and challenges is what DOing is for.

Review!

An important part of the Scout program is the review - learning from what we have done, and making it better for next time.  Tell us how we did - good or bad - by sending us an email!
